Many of my friend in dubbing fans community ask me how to make fandub. So here is, how to edit video dubbing with adobe premiere tutorial

Before you read, I just want to make sure that THIS TUTORIAL ONLY FOR BEGINNER who want to play fandub but don’t have ‘proper’ dubbing equipment.

Video with foreign language that you like, and then you can change the original voice into yours.

Is that cool? You will feel like professional dubber with it. I’m not person who able to make fandub (fan dubbing) who make “funny” translation. I prefer make ‘serious one’.

In this tutorial, I will use my latest fandub project. Magna Carta 2 – New Bound. I did another Magna Carta 2 fandub before.But the old version is getting help from professional dubber to dub another 3 character from Magna Carta 2

This is the latest result of my fandub project. me as Zephie and Fuji as Juto. We dub it into bahasa Indonesia.

Hardware Tools  that you need :

1. Mic recording.
Its up to you what kind of recording tools that you want to use. Mine is this one

A. Logitech USB Desktop Microphone

This Logitech USB Desktop Microphone has very clear sound. Less noise but the price is affordable. It able to filters out distracting background sounds so your voice always comes across crisp and clear. The installation is as easy as plugging it into your USB port. Software is freely available via download.com and then by searching for EXPStudio Audio Editor Free 3.93, which features multiple track capabilities (background music with voice-over). Using your computer, the software and this microphone, you definitely can create your own in-house recording studio.

B. But if you want to have PROFESSIONAL result, or you want to seriously make audio editing as your job, you might consider Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser USB Microphone

I always want to have this one. It was very easy to use and noise floor very quiet, it does not record the fan noise from your computer or the background noise in the recording room. This Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser USB Microphone even able to reduce bump air when you speak fast like rapping. The sound is excellent. And it able to use on Apple, Mac and Windows computer.

2. Head Set
We need headset to hear the original voice from the film without disturbing and make additional sound on the recording file. My suggestion is  Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset and Amplified Stereo Sound

Since this headset is for gaming purpose, you can imagine How clear the sound will be. You can hear your own recording voice with clear, so you won’t have to shout to hear what you’re saying. The great thing is, this  Head Set not only for PC use, you can use it into xbox 360 too. Extremely comfortable, even with glasses and after multiple hours of continuous use.

3. Computer/Laptop

Software that you Need

1. Free HQ Recorder

2. Adobe Premiere Pro

I’m using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 since my computer cant support higher version. But you can use higher version. I will not explain how to use this stuff completely. I only will explain related tools to make fandub.

How to edit video dubbing with adobe premiere tutorial

1. Find the Video and audio sound effect. You can find amazing SFX downloadable collection at Best free sfx download site . You can start translating, and write the dialog on doc/notepad

2. Record Voice

My suggestion. Play the video and listen the voice on Head Set with 30% from normal volume. It will not distract your concentration but big enough to listening the ambient and feel. Make sure when you scream, take the Microphone away so the voice will till crisp and clear.

3. Start Mixing with Adobe Premiere

You can read tutorial photos slide show with adobe premiere pro to learn how to separate video and audio. If your video flv or other extension that not supported with Adobe Premiere, you can convert it with Free file format converting software format factory 2011 for windows 7 Most of my fandub Video taken from youtube

After that, you can start to export the video. And use windows Movie maker to re-size it smaller to upload at youtube.
