How to make Postage Stamp with Photoshop Tutorial for DeviantArt

Actually I get some request asking how to make glossy button like this at my new blog Menjejak Langkah, Asa dalam Kaca

But I think the tutorial will be so simple. So I ‘increase’ the level into How to make Postage Stamp with Photoshop Tutorial for DeviantArt

The result gonna be like this

I know its quite simple stamp. But if you want to add some animation on it, you can read Tutorial creating avatar animation with adobe photoshop cs3. I will explain step by step making postage stamp for beginner. ^^

Ok then, lets start to read How to make Postage Stamp with Photoshop Tutorial for DeviantArt

1. Create New File 818 x 463 px. In DevianArt, the actual stamp size is 99px x 56 px. I prefer to make it bigger so I can put many detail on it. I can resize it latter

2. Fill it with Blank and put help line on it. The outer one is for outer side and the inside one is for picture border

3. Create New Layer and color it with WHITE

4. Press (E) - Eraser, and set the brush like this (F5) .

5. With Pen Tool (P), Create Square area (Trace the white area). Right click when Your done and choose Stroke path and choose ERASER.  This Gonna be trial and error. Try again step 4 and change the SPACING value, if you feel it not suitable with your taste

6. This gonna be like this. You already have your stamp template

7. MAKE NEW LAYER. Use any color and make new square like this (base on your inner border)

8. Put you image on the top and GROUP it (press alt and move around your cursor betwween green layer and picture layer. When You see lock icon, Click it.)

9. Duplicate picture layer and use Filter->Texture->Texturize. Set like this or its on your own taste.

10. Change the blending mode. Depend on your desired effect. I choose Overlay this time. I add another layer to make purple gradation (but it optional)

11. Use rounded selection tool and make something like this. Make gradation from White to transparent.

12. DONE…. Yay! You can save it as PNG so the BG will be transparent
