Lineart Rainbow Tutorial with Photoshop
Sorry for not update last 2 days. I just really busy every weekend teaching whole day and also practicing masquerade cosplay for my Saint Beast cosplay team performance next 9 November 2008 at Japan Indo expo.
Maybe you feel bored when see you sketch or black and white art. You want something different to your art. In this sort tutorial I will teach you how to make your art lineart has color.
Lineart Rainbow Tutorial
1. Open (ctrl+O) your sketch/lineart (Hint : Make sure it neat lineart. If your art has ‘gradient’ on background, clean that first)

2. Create new layer (ctrl+Sift+N)
3. Change the layer mode into overlay

4. Use gradient tool and coloring the new layer.

5. DONE

Is that simple?
TIPS :
a. Change the color of gradient by clicking the gradient color selection if you want to have another gradient

b. Use selection tool if you only want certain part of your art to be colored. I use different gradient color for Shin (Left) and Rey (right) since they have they own image color.

Hope it useful. If you still confused, pls dont forget to ask.

Er… what? Am I doing something wrong? D: When i do that, it just colors the whole screen gradient, and keeps my lineart on top. But the lineart doesn’t actually become gradient :\
I’m using a really old version of photoshop btw… elements 4.0 >.<
Did U change the layer mode into ‘Overlay’? The lineart not on top. The gradient color is on top. let me know if it still not works ^^
